Pasen,niets anders dan.. Easter,nothing else but..

''Want ik had niet besloten iets te weten onder u, dan Jezus Christus en Die gekruisigd.'' Paulus in zijn eerste brief aan de Korintiers (hdst2:2; NBG 1951 vertaling)
Lieve mensen,
bij deze wil ik jullie graag een warme en zonnige Paasgroet overbrengen! Met Kerst is dat heel gewoon, maar met Pasen is dat iets minder. Toch denk ik dat het juist allemaal om Pasen gaat, tenslotte was het Kerst, zodat het Pasen kon worden en niet andersom! En laten we Goede vrijdag ook niet vergeten, want zonder deze dag, wat méér is, zonder deze gebeurtenis op deze dag, zou het weer geen Pasen worden en zonder Pasen én Goede vrijdag...nou, daar wil ik liever niet aan denken!
Dat hoeft ook gelukkig niet, want het wérd Goede vrijdag én Pasen!!
Thank God!!
Dit vers van Paulus spreekt mij enorm aan, omdat het daar uiteindelijk allemaal om gaat! Ik bid dat mijn leven hier op aarde zo mag eindigen, niets anders te weten, niets anders over te houden dan Jezus en Zijn offer voor mij! Ik hoop dat jullie een gezegende Pasen mogen hebben, waarin het voor jou persoonlijk daar om mag gaan: Jezus Christus en Die gekruisigd! Dan mogen we ook weten dat Hij opstond uit de dood, dat Hij overwinnaar is. In Zwitserland heb ik heel duidelijk geleerd dat die opstanding betekent dat God de Vader het offer van Zijn Zoon aannam, dat Hij eigenlijk zei: ''Nu is het goed''. Na alles wat Jezus voor jou gedaan heeft, na alles wat Hij gegeven heeft, is jouw tijd, jouw leven toch niet teveel gevraagd om terug te geven? Hij heeft het (met eerbied gesproken) méér dan verdiend!!

Dear people,
I would like to send to you a warm and sunny Easter-greeting! We're used to warm greetings with Christmas, not so much with Easter. Yet I believe that it's all about Easter, after all Christmas was there so that Easter would be there, not the other way around! And let us not forget Good friday (if you people call it that way), the day we remember that Jesus died for us! Because without this Good friday, it would have never been Easter, and without Easter ánd Good friday...well, I don't even want to think about that. Luckly we don't have to think about that, because there is Good friday and Easter!!

This verse from Paul really touches me, because that's where it all comes down to! I pray my life here on earth will end knowing nothing else but Jesus Christ and His sacrifice for me! I hope you all will have a blessed Easter, where it will be personal to you: Jesus Christ and His death on the cross! We also know that He rose from the death and that He is the Victorious One! In Switzerland I have learned that the resurrection really means that God the Father accepted the sacrifice of His Son, that He in fact said: ''It is well now.''
After all Jesus has done for you, after all He has given, surely your time and your life isn't too much to give back, right?
With all respect, He has more than earned it!!
